Spectacular scenery... Scotland, the land of mountains, lochs and glens, the homeland of Robbie Burns and Bonnie Prince Charlie - and Scotch whisky. This is a country with a long history and over the heather-clad hills have been fought many battles - proud clans marching with their tarten kilts swinging to the skirl of the bagpipes.
It is a land of history, of delicate colours, of warm hospitality, and the caledonian Canal passes through the very heart of it. It also passes through the famous Loch Ness, home of the legendary monster. You are likely to see "Nessie" but you should see deer, eagles and other wildlife of the spectacular Highlands of Scotland. And in the warm hospitality of traditional Scottish pub you can enjoy the delicate taste of "wee dram" of single malt whisky.
Steeped in antiquity, the lush hillsides clad in aromatic heather await your arrival. From Inverness to Fort William, the Caledonian Canal at the heart of the great Glen fault will unveil it’s magic to you as you cruise past castles and ruins of days gone by.
Waterways cruising
is easy. Our boats are easy to handle and no
previous experience is required before taking
the helm. On your arrival a member of our boat yard staff will give you
full instructions and, if necessary, will help you go through the first
lock. When you have successfully completed your lesson you will receive
an official skipper's licence valid for the duration of your holiday.
